It is undoubtedly a wonderful setting to watch the sun set to music as the New English Concert Orchestra perform a programme full of carefully chosen favourites- The ultimate proms in the park.
With a demonstration of battlefield skill-at-arms with lances, rifles and superb horsemanship by Napoleonic Cavalry and Infantry displays, a Spitfire engine rumbling overhead with a choreographed aerial display accompanying the concert’s opening piece as well as live cannon fire for Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture all help make this prom different from the rest.
This year in honour of the Diamond Jubilee, the gunners of the English Field Artillery Company will also mark the start of evening’s musical programme with a volley of shots from an authentic vintage field gun.
With the traditional sing-along favourites such as Rule Britannia, God Save the Queen and Land of Hope and Glory and a spectacular firework display – nothing could be better as a grand finale to the evening.
An exceptional evening not to be missed.
