The Woolsack races in Tetbury have been running for over 30 years. A tradition that it is believed originated in the 17th Century allows young men to show their strength by running up a 1 in 4 hill carrying a woolsack on their back.
Each year competitors come from far and wide to see if they can become World Champions and perhaps get their moment of fame and a place in the Guiness Book of Records. The event raises money for local causes and with the street fair, funfair and other entertainment is a great day out for all of the family.
