Greenbelt Festival – August Bank Holiday Weekend 2009

July 28, 2009

Greenbelt FestivalOnce again the Greenbelt Festival returns to Cheltenham.  Taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend (28th – 31st August) this festival attracts a large crowd to Cheltenham Racecourse each year.

The mission statement of the Greenbelt Festival is

‘Greenbelt is an independent Christian charity working to express love, creativity and justice in the arts and contemporary culture in the light of the Christian gospel’

With music from artists such as Athelete, Schlomo, the Love and Joy Gospel choir, Martyn Joseph and Stu G there really is something for all tastes.  But Greenbelt isn’t just about music there are speakers from all over the world to prompt you to look beyond yourself and ask what is it all about?

The whole event runs over several days, and beyond the music and speakers there’s worship, films, performing arts and children’s activities to ensure everyone has some way of taking part.  Click here for more details.
