Wishbone Cottage

Originally a 16th Century bakery, Wishbone is a period Cotswold stone cottage in a row of terraced limestone properties on Milton Street in the pretty market town of Fairford, which is situated in the beautiful Coln Valley and the Cotswold Water Park. Wishbone has recently undergone complete restoration, retaining the essence of a Cotswold Cottage blended with modern colour and current technology in a contemporary style. Comfortably furnished and well equipped to a high standard on the background of the original flagstone and wooden floors and exposed stone walls. It provides Guests with an elegant, relaxing stay.

Downstairs:

The front door opens into the Living Room which has exposed stone walls, wooden floor and a large open fireplace with a wood burning stove. Here there is a comfortable leather sofa and two chairs, a large digital TV with Freeview, DVD player, iPod docking and a phone for incoming calls. Throughout the house there is gas central heating and free use of wireless broadband.

The Kitchen has the original flagstone floor, a bespoke fitted kitchen with solid oak worktops. A pine farmhouse table and four chairs, a large range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and fridge freezer. The Kitchen is well equipped and a welcome basket of food and essential supplies are always provided.

At the back of the property is a private cottage garden with views to the church. Here there is a seating area with table and chairs and a gas BBQ. A separate Summerhouse is ideal for summer reading and relaxing on the day bed.

Upstairs:

The floors are covered with coir flooring throughout.

The Bathroom is modern with designer fittings and travertine tiles. There is a washbasin, WC, chrome heated towel rail and a bath with an overhead shower.  Lots of fluffy towels are supplied and there is endless hot water.

The First Bedroom has a comfortable 5ft pine bed dressed with soft quilt, pillows and lovely white linen. The room has plenty of storage cupboards and pine furniture. There are reading lamps beside the bed.

Stairs take you to the Second Bedroom which provides a comfortable 4’6” pine double bed dressed with soft quilt, pillows and lovely white linen and is set in a pretty room with exposed stone walls and beams. A sofa bed can provide the flexibility of twin beds or accommodation for a fifth person (An additional £20 charge applies).  There is pine furniture and reading lamps are next to the bed.

A high chair, travel cot and stair gates are available upon request.

Wishbone Cottage is strictly a non smoking and no pets establishment.

Wishbone is situated in the southern Cotswolds, on the western side of Fairford town which is in the beautiful Coln Valley and the Cotswold Water Park. Here you will find many activities including water skiing and wakeboarding, sailing, kayaking, fishing, horse riding, golf, and leisure boat hire on the Thames, all within a few miles of the cottage.

Everything is catered for in Fairford, and Guests are able to walk into the town to shop and eat.

From the Cottage you can easily join the many beautiful walks in and around Fairford, leaving your car keys behind for the duration of your stay! In July RAF Fairford provides the venue for the world famous annual Air Tattoo which is located within walking distance of Wishbone. Further afield there is the Roman town of Cirencester, the village of Bibury with its trout farm and the famous Arlington Row, Burford Wildlife Park, Westonbirt Arboretum, and the Spa town of Cheltenham are all within easy reach.

An additional £20 charge also applies for the sofa bed to be prepared if required.  This charge applies per stay or per week.
