Location
Orchard End is located in the small, peaceful, unspoilt village of Darlingscott at the foot of the North Cotswold Hills. From here you can access the footpaths to enjoy the views across the wonderful Warwickshire countryside. A 30 minute walk will take you to the beautiful village of Illmington, where you will find the local pub, post office and places you can buy your freshly baked bread.
Many of the towns and villages in the local area are built of the warm, honey coloured stone that the Cotswolds is known for. Examples of this can be found in Chipping Campden and Moreton in Marsh, where it is easy to spend a leisurely afternoon browsing the gift shops and art galleries followed by some homemade cake in one of the many tea rooms. Just 30 minutes drive, Shakespeare’s birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon is also a very popular place to visit. You can take a cruise down the River Avon, visit Shakespeare’s birthplace and experience a wonderful evening at one of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s theatres. Other places of interest close to Orchard End are Hidcote Manor Garden, the Cotswold Falconry Centre, Batsford Arboretum and fishing at Lemington Lakes.
