Cleeveley Cottage is a Grade II Listed, mid terraced cottage dating from the 16th century situated in the small and tranquil hamlet of Holwell, just to the south of Burford. It is a quintessential Cotswold cottage, full of character and charm with oak beams; flagstone floors, original wooden spiral staircases, doors and Tudor stone fireplace with log burner.
Downstairs:
Fully fitted Kitchen includes double oven, electric hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer & dishwasher
The beamed Living / Dining Room has a sofa, comfortable window seat, coffee table and an armchair all set in front of an original Tudor stone fireplace with a wood burning stove. There is also a table and seating for four, a 32” LCD TV (Freeview) and DVD player, ipod dock, a small selection of books, games and DVDs.
First Floor:
Approached via the original wooden staircase leading from the living room to the upstairs landing.
Bedroom One has a King size wrought iron double bed, bedside drawer units, a rustic double wardrobe, bedroom chair, large chest of drawers with a LCD TV (Freeview) for those relaxing mornings in bed.
The Bathroom has a bath, separate shower enclosure with ceiling and wall mounted shower heads, wash basin with mirrored cabinet and WC.
Second Floor:
Approached via the original wooden staircase, leading from the first floor landing to the second floor snug area.
The vaulted ceiling Snug Area has a two seater sofa-bed (Please note an additional £40 charge applies per person), a large chest of drawers and a 37” Plasma TV (Freeview) with DVD player and door to the convenient upstairs Toilet with a wash basin and WC
Leading off the snug area is Bedroom Two which also has a vaulted ceiling, two single wrought iron beds, bedside drawer units and a rustic double wardrobe.
Outside, a walled cottage rear garden offers BBQ, table and chairs with a parasol for it is a real suntrap. The front overlooks a small front garden on a very quiet, dead end road offering parking outside the cottage.
The cottage has WiFi coverage on all floors.
A cot and high chair can be provided upon request.
An initial supply of wood is provided for the wood burning stove.
This property is strictly non smoking and does not welcome pets.
Location
Conveniently located on the edge of the Cotswolds, amidst rolling and partially wooded countryside, three miles from Buford , Cleeveley Cottage offers a quiet retreat for those looking to get away from it all, with walks and stunning views on your doorstep. If you would prefer getting out and seeing more of the local area then; Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, the Slaughters, Oxford and Cheltenham, to name but a few, are only a short drive away.
Why not enjoy the shopping and architecture in Regency Cheltenham, entertain the kids at the nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park and the Cotswold Motor Museum - home of ‘Brum’, relax at the C.Side Spa within Cowley Manor or savour the delights at the local farmers markets. Day trips to Oxford, Stratford Upon Avon and Bath Spa can be enjoyed from this property.
Holwell is easily accessed with good road and rail routes from London via the M4/M40/A40 and train services from Paddington to Charlbury, about 12 miles away.
