Bettys Cottage

Bettys Cottage is an idyllic, end of terrace thatched cottage situated in the beautifully un-spoilt village of Taynton, just a couple of miles from Burford.  Ozzing charm and character, this country cottage has been carefully renovated to provide a magical setting for any break in the Cotswolds.  

Downstairs:

Entrance into the beamed Living / Dining Room with its original hearth fireplace (*) and flagstone flooring which dates back to 1740.

The Living / Dining Room has large comfortable sofa facing the original hearth fireplace (*) and large LCD TV with Freeview and a DVD player.  A table and seating provides a dining area for four.

Fully fitted Kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, fridge / freezer, dishwasher and microwave.

The downstairs Shower Room includes a walk-in shower, washbasin and WC. 

First Floor:

The Master Bedroom has a double bed, bedside tables with lamps, chest of drawers and an LCD TV with Freeview.  

Bedroom Two has two single beds, bed side tables and shelving for storage.

The Bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, washbasin, heated towel rail and WC.

A Laundry Room with a washing machine and tumble dryer can be found at the rear of the property.

A large private Garden at the rear includes lawns, flower beds and fruit trees as well as a patio area with table, chairs x 6 and a parasol.  The front overlooks a small front garden on a very quiet road offering parking outside the cottage.

A travel cot and stair gate can be provided upon request.

Well behaved dogs welcome.

Parking is available right outside the cottage.  A driveway does also provide parking for one car, however it is narrow and not recommended for modern family cars. It will accomodate a car if first it is unloaded then carefully reversed into the driveway with the front end facing the road. 

* The fireplace is available for use in the winter months (1st October - 1st April).  An initial supply of wood is provided, more are available to purchase locally.  The fireplace chimney is  closed-off during the summer months but remains an attractive feature of the property. 

Please note that the stairs are a little steep and uneven and thus the cottage may not be suitable for people with restricted mobility or toddlers. 

Mobile phone reception is poor in Taynton, you may have to walk up the street to receive signal.  

Bettys Cottage is a strictly non smoking establishment. 

Set within the beautiful and peaceful village of Taynton, less than two miles from Burford, Bettys Cottage offers a quiet retreat for those looking to get away from it all, with walks and stunning views on your doorstep.  The village itself has a collection of historic houses, a beautiful church and a village hall, with the nearest pubs under two miles in both directions.   

Burford ‘Gateway to the Cotswolds’ is just a few minutes’ drive or a brisk 20 minute walk across the fields.  Wonderful antique shop, gift boutiques and art galleries are amongst quaint tearooms and an array of country pubs and excellent restaurants.  Local farmers markets can regularly be found in Stow, Bourton and Moreton.

Why not enjoy the shopping and architecture in Regency Cheltenham, entertain the kids at the nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park and the Cotswold Motor Museum -  home of ‘Brum’, relax at the C.Side Spa within Cowley Manor or savour the delights at the local farmers markets.  Day trips to Oxford, Stratford Upon Avon and Bath Spa can be enjoyed from this property.
